A five-part epic of forbidden fire and astral magic.
August is a budding fantasy author and the creator of The Triune Eclipse Cycle, a five-book saga that begins with the upcoming novel, Rise of the Twice-Forged.
August’s love for literature began early, guided by his grandmother—a librarian who treated the library as a gateway to other worlds. She introduced him to classics like The Chronicles of Narnia, Treasure Island, The Little Prince, and Aesop’s Fables, sparking a lifelong fascination with storytelling. This passion quickly translated into writing; in the fifth grade, August was chosen as the youngest Editor-in-Chief in their school paper's history. Through writing op-eds and news articles, he began honing the discipline of the craft at a young age.
While journalism sharpened his skills, it was the expansive worlds of authors like J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, and Robin Hobb that truly captured his imagination. Their work encouraged August to look beyond the page and build worlds of his own. This love for immersion extends to other media as well—from consuming YA novels and queer stories to exploring narrative-heavy video games. Role-playing and simulation games like Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate, The Legend of Zelda, and The Sims played a crucial role in developing his understanding of character agency and interactive storytelling.
Based in Ontario, Canada, August writes stories that explore themes of survival, forbidden power, and the cost of ambition. When not plotting the dangers of the irradiated wastelands or catching up on the latest TV shows and movies, he can usually be found in the kitchen experimenting with new baking recipes, brewing the perfect cup of tea, or curating wine pairings for the next holiday meal.
